Operation of the Prosecutor General’s Office in Baku: High-ranking officials detained

As a result of operational and investigative measures carried out on the basis of information received from the State Service for Mobilization and Conscription for Military Service of the Republic of Azerbaijan, a criminal case was initiated in the Main Department for Combating Corruption under the Prosecutor General on the fact of illegal actions of the head of the Khazar District Department of the aforementioned service Ramin Shukurov, the head of the conscription department of this department Khalid Azimov and officer Emil Nabiyev, Oxu.Az reports with reference to a joint statement of the supervisory agency and the State Service for Mobilization and Conscription for Military Service.

Based on the initial evidence collected in the case, R. Shukurov and E. Nabiyev were charged under Articles 311.3.1 and 311.3.3 (acceptance of a bribe/passive bribery) by a group of persons by prior agreement or by an organized group on a large scale), and H. Azimov was charged under Article 311.3.1 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

The investigation into the criminal case is currently ongoing.
