An attempt to smuggle 42 kg of drugs from Iran to Azerbaijan prevented

Employees of the State Border Service (SBS) of Azerbaijan prevented an attempt to illegally import a large consignment of drugs from Iran, Report informs citing the SBS.

As part of operational measures aimed at combating smuggling and illegal drug trafficking, on March 5 at 20:55, 42 kg 950 g of narcotic substances were found and seized on the territory of the Goytepe border detachment – 39 kg 650 g of marijuana, 3 kg 300 g of opium, as well as 100 methadone tablets.

Investigative measures are ongoing on the fact.
