Operation of the Main Directorate for Combating Drugs: 32 kg of marijuana seized

During another operation to suppress illegal drug trafficking and sale, officers of the Main Directorate for Combating Drugs of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) seized 32 kg of marijuana from circulation, Oxu.Az reports with reference to the MIA.

As a result of the operation conducted in the Narimanov district of the capital, based on the information received, 37-year-old Kanan Salmanov, previously convicted multiple times for robbery, car theft and drug-related crimes, was detained. The drugs were found in the vehicle he was driving.

In his testimony, K. Salmanov admitted that he received the drugs in the Garadagh district through an Iranian citizen, whose identity is being established by the investigation, and planned to deliver them to different addresses to obtain material benefits.

A criminal case has been opened on this fact, and the court has decided to impose a preventive measure in the form of arrest on the detainee.
