Officials detained in Azerbaijan

Alpay Mammad, the executive director of the Election Observation Alliance, has been brought to criminal responsibility, Oxu.Az reports. A. Mammad has been sentenced to 3 months and 28 days of arrest.

The head of the Civil Rights Institute, Bashir Suleymanli, has also been arrested. He has been sentenced to criminal responsibility as a result of an investigation conducted by the Investigative Department of the Prosecutor General’s Office.

B. Suleymanli is accused of abuse of office, official forgery, and money laundering. By the decision of the Binagadi District Court, a 3-month, 28-day arrest has been sentenced to 3 months and 28 days.
