Cyber ​​scammers caused damage to a citizen in the amount of 27 thousand manats

A resident of Hajigabul became a victim of cyber scammers, the damage amounted to 27,283 manats. As Report informs, this was reported by the head of the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Azerbaijan, Police Lieutenant Colonel Elshad Hajiyev.

According to him, the citizen received a call from a number whose international telephone code (+94…) was similar to the Azerbaijani one (AZE +994). The victim was told that he was supposedly supposed to receive an insurance payment, and for this, online approval was required.

Thus, a loan in the amount of 21 thousand manats was issued in the name of the citizen, the remaining funds, that is, 6,283 manats, were on the victim’s card.

“We once again urge citizens to be critical of unknown calls, attractive offers of earnings, insurance and other payments. You should not communicate with people who called or wrote a message from an unknown number; they should be blocked immediately,” wrote E. Gadzhiev.
