Head of construction company detained in case of illegal demolition of residential building

Head of Melissa Group construction company Galib Mamedov has been detained in Baku, Report informs. He was detained in a criminal case initiated on the fact of illegal demolition of a residential building in Yasamal district. The Ministry of Internal Affairs confirmed the information about the detention.

Thus, on March 27, employees of the construction company began demolishing a residential building in the Birinji Alatava area on Abdulvahab Salamzade Street, 118B, while residents were inside. As a result, several people were injured.

The State Committee for Urban Development and Architecture stated that the demolition was carried out without the appropriate permission and agreement with residents. The work was stopped, acts were drawn up in the presence of representatives of the competent authorities. The State Committee also noted that the materials for the investigation in connection with the damage caused to the property of citizens during illegal actions will be submitted to law enforcement agencies.

In addition to the company’s director, the foreman and the excavator driver were detained in the case. The materials were transferred to law enforcement agencies, and a criminal case was opened.
