Court sentence for drug trafficking

May 13, 2014 Baku Court of Grave Crimes has passed a sentence on a group of people accused of smuggling large amounts of drugs from Iran to Azerbaijan, reports APA.

According to the court semtence, P. Salmanov was sentenced to 13 years in prison and his mother T. Salmanova to 11 years, N. Mammadov to 13 years, E. Nasibov to 7 years and S. Kalov to 7 years in prison.

These people were arrested as a result of operations carried out by the Ministry of National Security. They faced charges under articles 234 (illegal purchase, possession, sale and transport of drugs) and 206 (smuggling) of the Criminal Code of AR.
