Drugs smugglers arrested

As a result of an operation carried out by the Ministry of National Security, an act of smuggling 19 kilograms of drugs from Iran to Azerbaijan has been prevented, 11 persons were detained reports APA with reference to the PR department of the Ministry of National Security.

 In course of an examination separately 1 kg and 187 g of heroin, 8 kg and 500g of opium, over 1 kg of hashish, and 8 kg and 201 g of dried marijuana were seized.
Regarding all the facts, a criminal case on the fact has been launched under the article 206.3.2 (on preliminary arrangement by a group of person), 234.4.1 and 234.4.3 (on preliminary arrangement by group of persons or organized group, in large amount) of the Criminal Code.
Detained persons have been sentenced to pre-trial detention.

Investigative measures on the fact are continuing.
