General Prosecutor’s office reviews work in 2014

205 premeditated murder acts were committed last year in zerbaijan. APA reports with reference to operational meeting at the Prosecutor General’s Office, dedicated to the discussion of works carried out by the Prosecutor’s Office in 2014 and duties to be fulfilled.

It was noted that as a result of efficient joint investigative operations carried out by the ministries of interior affairs and national security, the crimes of deliberate murder and attempted deliberate murder were uncovered and the perpetuators found and brought to justice during the reporting year.

 205 crimes of deliberate murder recorded in 2014 as well as another 83 crimes of this type committed under uncertain conditions were disclosed with fresh tracks. At the end of the reporting year, the intentional killings of Reyhan Safarova (Imishli District), the Rostiashvili borthers (Gakh District), and Sahib Abbasov (Goychay District) were disclosed and the perpetuators brought to justice.

During the reporting period, investigation of the criminal cases into a number of criminal incidents caused public outcry in the republic as well as the law violations revealed in the activities of the branches and representative offices of a number of non-governmental organizations of foreign countries, launched by the Investigation Department on Grave Crimes under the Prosecutor General’s Office, were continued professionally.

Counter-terrorism measures and measures against various types of extremism were constantly focused on, and during the investigation of such criminal cases, all convicts were brought to justice, the causes of crimes were determined and proper preventive measures taken.
