A trial was held on an appeal against the verdict against foreign citizen Gaedi Mohammad Najaf oglu, accused of committing espionage on the territory of the Republic of Azerbaijan. It is reported that based on the numerous evidence collected, it was established that Gaedi Mohammad Najaf oglu, on instructions from a foreign intelligence service, collected information representing state secrets in order to use it to the detriment of the security of Azerbaijan, including personal information about law enforcement officers of Azerbaijan, trying to establish personal contacts with them and involve them in secret cooperation with intelligence agencies of a foreign state.

Gaedi Mohammad Najaf oglu was prosecuted under Article 276 (espionage) of the Criminal Code of the Azerbaijan Republic, and the court chose a preventive measure in the form of arrest against him.

The trial of former deputy Huseyn Abdullayev, who is under arrest, has begun. APA reports that today a preparatory court hearing was held at the Baku Serious Crimes Court, chaired by Judge Azer Tagiyev. At the meeting, personal data was clarified. The hearing of the case is scheduled for August 22.

It is noted that reasonable suspicions were identified that in order to conceal the true source of property acquired by Huseyn Abdullayev, more than 5 were transferred from 7 bank accounts opened in banks of our country in the name of G. Abdullayev and members of his family to other countries. 5 million manat, the amount was agreed upon, and also based on the conclusion of illegal contracts in the name of close relatives, real estate was purchased.

Based on the collected evidence, Huseyn Abdullayev was brought as an accused under Article 193-1.3.2 (legalization of property on a large scale obtained by crime) of the Criminal Code and, based on the petition of the investigator and the presentation of the prosecutor in charge of the procedural management of the preliminary investigation, a preventive measure was chosen by the court. in the form of an arrest. The preliminary investigation in the criminal case has been completed and sent for consideration to the Baku Court of Serious Crimes.

Gasimov was accused of fraud worth 124,000 manat, and the first sentence of 6 years in prison was handed down to him by the Baku Court of Grave Crimes.

However, the Baku Appeal Court acquitted Tarlan Gasimov, and he was released from custody.

The prosecutor filed a cassation appeal to the Supreme Court, which upheld the appeal and sent the case back to the Baku Appeal Court for retrial.

On retrial in the Court of Appeal, the acquittal was overturned.
