Arif Yunus’s prison term extended

Nasimi District Court has today considered the investigating authority’s petition on extending prison term of imprisoned employee of the Institute for Peace and Democracy, Arif Yunus at the hearing presided over by judge Babek Panahov,  Yunus’s lawyer Afghan Mammadov told APA.

According to the judgment the prison term of his defendant was extended to 5 months.

Arif Yunus faced charges under articles 274 (treason) and 178.3.2 (swindle) of the Criminal Code. Arif Yunus, arrested on August 5, 2014, was sentenced to 3-month pre-trial detention. That term was extended till February in October last year.
