65 people recognized as victims over case of National Security Ministry

Some 65 people were recognized as victims over the case of the recently liquidated Ministry of National Security of Azerbaijan, APA reports..

This was announced at the board meeting held Friday at the Azerbaijani Prosecutor General’s Office.

It was said that on 17 October 2015, the Azerbaijani Prosecutor General’s Office launched a criminal case into illegal interference in the activities of business entities, violation of the requirements of the legislation on operational and investigative activities, telephone tapping, as well as other illegal actions taken by relevant structures of the liquidated Ministry of National Security.

As many as 22 persons were detained as suspects. A preventive measure in the form of arrest was chosen against 20 of them, one was released on his recognizance not to leave and one was arrested in absentia as he evaded the investigation.

Some 65 people were recognized as victims after 130 episodes were investigated.
