Six of those arrested over case of Azerbaijani Int’l Bank released after former MP’s testimony

Six of those arrested over the case of the International Bank of Azerbaijan has been released.

Those persons were released in December 2016 after former MP Dunyamin Khalilov’s testimony, APA reports.

Imprisonment terms were extended for most of those arrested over the case of the International Bank, Kamandar Nasibov, a lawyer of the former director of the Dubai branch of the International Bank of Azerbaijan Adil Huseynov who is still in prison.

On February 26, 2016 the Narimanov district court passed a decision on extending the prisons terms for the former director of the Dubai branch of the International Bank of Azerbaijan Adil Huseynov, the former director of the Central branch of the International Bank of Azerbaijan Ilgar Abdullayev and the director of the Zagatala Tobacco Processing Plant “Intertobacco” Ismayil Hidayatzade who are accused of failing to repay the loans he had taken from the International Bank of Azerbaijan.

The former director of the bank’s Transport Branch Kanan Orujov was released under house arrest.

A few days ago, the Narimanov district court passed a decision on prolonging the prison sentences of the head of Azerbaijan Consulting Group LLC Erhan Javad Yavuz and several others for three months.  

On 2 December 2015, the Narimanov District Court considered the petition filed by the prosecuting authority in connection with the annulment of the decision on the arrest of Adil Mikayilov, CEO of the Khazar Management System Company. The court sustained the petition and Mikayilov was released on recognizance not to leave. A decision on the measure of restraint in the form of arrest against 5 others was also cancelled.
