Azerbaijani police detain two more supporters of ‘Muslim Unity’ movement

Azerbaijan’s law-enforcement forces have detained two more supporters of the radical religious movement ‘Muslim Unity’.

According to a joint statement of the Prosecutor General’s Office and the Interior Ministry, residents of Azerbaijan’s Lankaran district – Gismat Isayev and Vugar Ismayilov were detained over spreading national and religious separatist ideas among people and calling on citizens for mass disobedience and open confrontation with law enforcement agencies, APA reports. 

Four grenades, 123 cartridges, two TNT blocks as well as 18 illegally prohibited booklets which promote religious intolerance and division were seized from their houses.

A criminal case was launched on the fact, and necessary investigative measures are ongoing.
