For six months 2017 the Ministry of Taxes initiated 139 criminal cases

In the first six months of this year, as a result of the preliminary investigation of tax crimes conducted by the Department of the Ministry of Taxes of Azerbaijan, 139 criminal cases were instituted on facts of tax evasion and illegal business activities. At the same time, the payment to the state budget of 7 million 806.5 thousand manats was provided, the press service of the Ministry of Taxes told haqqin.az.

In connection with the full payment of taxes, 38 criminal cases were closed at the preliminary investigation stage.

The investigation was completed in 254 criminal cases. In respect of the five accused, a measure of restraint was applied in the form of arrest. Investigative materials with indictments on passing through 65 criminal cases, 75 suspects in tax evasion were transferred to the courts. On the basis of the investigative and operational measures, 13 persons who were wanted for tax crimes were detained, and 129 persons who avoided preliminary investigation were forcibly appeared.
