A criminal case was instituted against Armenian football players who insulted the Azerbaijani flag

The military-political leadership of Armenia, once again demonstrating its aggressive nature, continues provocative actions against Azerbaijan, grossly violating the fundamental norms and principles of international law in order to incite national hatred, the oxu.az information Internet portal reports with reference to the statement of the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

In particular, the statement says that “So, in some media and on the pages of various social networks, videos appeared in which Armenian football players insult the state flag of Azerbaijan.

On this fact, a criminal case was initiated under Articles 283.2.3 (incitement of national, racial, social or religious hatred and enmity committed by an organized group) and 324 (desecration of the state flag or state emblem of the Republic of Azerbaijan) of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan. The investigation was entrusted to the investigative department of the Prosecutor General’s Office.

The necessary measures will be taken to identify and bring to justice the perpetrators of the crime, together with the prosecution authorities of other countries, as well as the relevant state authorities, by submitting petitions for legal assistance in the case”.
