Administrators who created a channel in social networks to blackmail citizens detained

Administrators who created a Telegram channel and blackmailed citizens were detained, APA reports.

So, as a result of the operational actions of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the administrators of the channels on the Telegram social network, residents of the capital Parviz Gurbanov, Faig Safaraliyev and another minor were detained. In their testimony, they admitted to blackmailing people with photos they shared on their Telegram channels, and deleting that data in exchange for money.

A criminal case has been initiated against these persons under Article 182.2.1 (Extortion committed by a group of persons by prior agreement) of the Criminal Code. By the decision of the court in respect of Faig Safaraliyev, a preventive measure in the form of arrest for a period of 4 months was chosen. Investigations are ongoing for the other two detainees.
