120 kg of drugs seized during operations carried out by the Ministry of Internal Affairs

In the course of a series of operations carried out by employees of the Main Department for Combating Drugs of the Ministry of Internal Affairs over the past 20 days, another 57 members of an organized criminal group involved in drug trafficking were detained, the information Internet portal oxu.az reports citing the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

The detainees were found to have 120 kg of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances, as well as 4,360 units of psychotropic drugs.

During the events held in the Absheron and Binagadi regions, the previously convicted Panah Ismailov and Ramin Abuzerov were detained. P. Ismailov was found to have 42 kg of drugs, including 30 kg of heroin, 9 kg of methamphetamine, 3 kg of marijuana, electronic scales and a notebook with records of the sale of narcotic drugs, R. Abuzerov – 8 kg of drugs of various names.

In connection with the facts, criminal cases were initiated under the relevant articles of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan. With regard to the detained persons, by a court decision, a measure of restraint in the form of arrest was chosen.
