Serial theft suspect arrested

Employees of the Mingachevir city police department detained and brought to investigation Asiman Allahverdiyev, suspected of committing a series of burglaries since 2020, who had previously been repeatedly convicted of similar crimes, oxu.az reports citing the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

Thus, during the investigation, it was established that the detainee stole money in the amount of 19,000 manats and jewelry worth about 36,000 manats from 13 apartments.

In his testimony, he stated that he sold stolen goods in Baku and Ganja, and spent the money on gambling. Part of the stolen gold was found by the police at the places of sale and seized as material evidence.

On this fact, a criminal case was initiated, according to the decision of the court, A. Allahverdiyev was taken into custody.
