Criminal case initiated against former official of Azerpost LLC

The prosecutor’s office of the Binagadi district of Baku conducted an investigation on the basis of an appeal received about the lack of cash in the postal department No. 106 of the branch No. 2 of Azerpost LLC, oxu.az reports.

During the investigation, reasonable suspicions arose that the former head of the post office, Gulnara Khalilova, embezzled 16,500 manats and 4,500 dollars from the post office’s cash desk between July 12 and December 9, 2021.

On this fact, a criminal case was initiated under articles 179.2.3 and 179.2.4 (misappropriation or embezzlement by a person using his official position with causing significant damage) of the Criminal Code of the Azerbaijan Republic.

The investigation is ongoing.
