Military doctor arrested for taking bribes from servicemen

An officer of the Nth military unit, doctor Veli Guliyev, who took bribes from military personnel, was arrested, oxu.az reports citing APA.

Thus, in the course of an investigation conducted by law enforcement agencies, it was found that most of the servicemen to whom V. Guliyev issued a certificate of illness did not need treatment and were sent to the hospital for a bribe.

According to these facts, a criminal case has been initiated under Article 311.3.2 (repeated bribe-taking) of the Criminal Code of Azerbaijan. A measure of restraint in the form of arrest was chosen against Veli Guliyev.
