More than 15 kg of heroin seized from drug courier

As a result of operational-search activities carried out by employees of the Department for Combating Drugs of the Main Police Department of the city of Ganja, a drug courier was detained, who ensured the delivery of narcotic drugs brought from Iran to Azerbaijan illegally on the basis of an online order, oxu.az reports citing to the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

During the investigation, it was found that a resident of Ganja, Khayyam Gasimov, in exchange for a monetary reward from an Iranian citizen, agreed to take drugs hidden in the city to the Gazakh region. H. Gasimov was detained in Ganja and taken to the Main Police Department. About 15.5 kg of heroin were found and seized in his bag.

The detainee was handed over to the investigation along with material evidence, investigative actions are continuing.
