Members of Iranian drug network detained

Members of the Iranian drug network have been detained in Baku, Report news agency reported citing the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Azerbaijan.

During the operation, carried out by employees of the Narimanov District Police Department, Elmar Mamishov, a previously convicted resident of the capital, was detained. About 5 kg of heroin were found on him.

During another operation, Niyazi Guliyev, Nazim Novruzov and Ziya Zakirov, who organized the illegal sale of drugs in the capital, were detained and handed over to the investigation. They were found in total to have 2 kg of heroin.

The detainees reported that they purchased drugs from Iranian citizens named Rza and Milad through social networks for the purpose of further sale and were involved as drug couriers.

In the investigation department of the police department, a criminal case has been initiated against the detainees, and the investigation is ongoing.
