Courier carrying weapons detained

As a result of operational measures carried out by the employees of the Ujar district police department, Elshan Azimov, a previously repeatedly convicted resident of the district, who is currently serving a sentence in the form of restriction of freedom, was detained in the village of Garabork, Report informs citing the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. An AK-74 assault rifle and a magazine, as well as narcotic drugs, were found with the detainee. In the course of the investigation, it was established that E. Azimov, entering into a deliberate agreement with an Iranian citizen named “Akbar”, whom he met on social networks, had to deliver weapons to Baku in exchange for 1.2 thousand manats.

As a result of the operation to combat illegal drug trafficking, G. Rustamov, S. Karimli, Sh. Khuduev and R. Mammadov were detained by the police department. They were found and seized heroin and marijuana.

The facts are being investigated.
