Prosecutor General’s Office: Entrepreneurs and companies paid damages in the amount of 1.5 million manats for cutting down trees

During these six months alone, entrepreneurs and companies voluntarily compensated 1.5 million manats of damage for illegal tree felling, Report informs, citing Elnur Musayev, head of the Extra-Criminal Proceedings Department of the Prosecutor General’s Office, at a press conference entitled “Environmental Protection”.

According to him, the persons who committed the offense admitted their illegal actions. In addition to addressing the issues of responsibility of persons who committed the offense, comprehensive measures were taken to compensate for environmental damage. The prosecutor’s office initiates criminal cases on the facts of illegal logging and proceedings on an administrative offense.
