Counterfeit alcohol producers gang detained

The Ministry of Internal Affairs together with the Azerbaijan Food Security Agency (AFSA) has implemented another operational measure to ensure food security in the country and protect consumer rights, oxu.az reports citing the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

Thus, during an event held on the basis of information received about the manufacture of counterfeit alcoholic beverages in the Gulustan village of the Binagadi district of the capital, Fahri Nureddinli, Sarkhan Manafov and Khayyam Hasanov were detained. During the investigation, it was established that these persons produced vodka, whiskey, tequila and other counterfeit alcoholic drinks in an underground workshop, organized their sale in Baku and various regions of the republic. During the inspection of their workshop, a significant amount of counterfeit alcoholic beverages, local and foreign excise stamps, labels, empty glass containers, as well as industrial alcohol intended for use in production, which can cause serious harm to human health, were found and seized as material evidence.
