Police officers seized 61 kg of drugs imported from Iran to Azerbaijan

The main anti-drug department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs conducted an operation during which 61 kg of narcotic drugs were seized from circulation, Report informs citing the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

During the operation, department officers detained Kamran Abdullayev in Lankaran, a previously convicted member of an organized criminal group involved in drug trafficking. 61 kg of marijuana enriched with psychotropic substances, as well as a bank card and scales were found and seized from him.

During the preliminary investigation, it was established that Abdullayev, having entered into a conspiracy with an Iranian citizen, was smuggling drugs into Azerbaijan.

A criminal case has been initiated into the fact, and a preventive measure in the form of arrest has been chosen against the detainee by a court decision.
