23 kg of drugs imported from Iran were seized from illicit trafficking in Azerbaijan

As a result of another special operation carried out by employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the State Border Service, the smuggling of a large amount of drugs from Iran to Azerbaijan was prevented. As Report was informed by the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, in the Sabunchu district, police and border guards detained Azamat Akhmedzade and his acquaintance Sharif Mammadov, who was previously convicted of drug-related crimes.

In the car driven by Ahmadzadeh, 23 kg of marijuana enriched with psychotropic substances was found. According to the detainees, they purchased the drugs through an Iranian citizen, whose identity is being established.

A criminal case has been initiated into the fact, and a preventive measure in the form of arrest has been chosen against the detainees. Operational and investigative activities continue.
