At the initiative of the Supreme Court, the possibility of applying to courts electronically expanded

At the initiative of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Azerbaijan, as part of improving the “Electronic Court” information system, the possibility of applying to courts electronically was expanded, 1news.az reports.

Thus, individuals and legal entities, including government agencies, who are users of the “Electronic Cabinet” will be able, through the “Electronic Cabinet,” to electronically send to the courts statements of claim on administrative disputes considered by the court of appeal as a court of first instance. At the same time, they will receive prompt information about the progress of the trial, judicial acts issued, and the complaint filed against them.

To submit claims of this type to the courts, users must first log into the “Electronic Account”, from there select the appropriate court of appeal, going to the “new application” section, consistently enter the necessary information on the claim and certify it with an electronic signature.

The acceleration of the digitization process in the courts will be the consideration by the appellate court as a court of first instance of disputes about the protection of electoral rights (participation in a referendum), disputes about the media, disputes about political parties, disputes about challenging the decision of the Central Election Commission and other cases of this kind in an electronic manner.
