Results of combating crime

On July 31, 2013, an extended collegiums’ session of the MIA of Azerbaijan was held. The session was devoted to the results of the activities of law enforcement bodies to combat crime, protection of public order and public safety in the first half of this year and the upcoming challenges.

The Collegium noted that in the first half of 2013 in Azerbaijan law enforcement authorities destroyed more than 360 criminal gangs, was uncovered in 1130 of their crimes, including 320 serious and very serious crimes.

It was pointed out at the meeting that during this period as a result of operational measures taken in the field of protection of the economic security of the state, were discovered 16 crimes on producing and sale of counterfeit money. It were withdrawn from illegal circulation 1041 bills of various denominations in the amount of AZN 83,000, and about 300 tons of fake foodstuffs and building materials, reports Trend.
